Job Role : Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (2 Shift/Double Days)

GCB Cocoa UK is a new Chocolate and Cocoa processing plant based in Suffolk and is currently seeking Multi-Skilled Plant Maintenance Engineers to join our established Engineering Team as we enter phase 2 of our site expansion. This is a great opportunity to be involved from the start on the installation of new, state of the art equipment and build your knowledge and skills in a cutting edge environment.

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 2 rotating shifts (06.00 – 14.00; 14.00 – 22.00 rotating weekly) – shift allowance £150 per month.

We offer:

  • Salary of £38,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
  • Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme: 5% Employee pension contributions are matched by 5% Employer pension contribution.
  • 23 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising to 25 days after 2 years’ service.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the layout of the site, being involved with and understanding the installation of new services during the build stages of the development of the second phase of the site
  • Assist with the layout of the equipment, being involved with and understanding the installation of new equipment and the production process flow
  • Fault finding & problem solving on a variation of production and site equipment.
  • Create and carry out planned maintenance schedules.
  • Liaise with suppliers & service companies regarding problem solving & service engineer visits
  • Identify spare parts for all equipment, in line with business strategies.
  • Liaise with Production teams and identify, implement, and optimise improvements to machinery and plant.
  • Identify and carry out Engineering improvement projects when required.
  • Actively train down skills through standardised work to both Production operatives through TPM & other shift engineers.
  • Work with suppliers in the installation of new and existing plant and equipment
  • Provide technical assistance to aid in the verification of new equipment

Qualifications/Experience:

Essential requirements:

  • Experience with plant/equipment maintenance in a Manufacturing environment
  • Minimum HNC Engineering Qualification
  • Experience in PPM and TPM
  • Experienced in Both mechanical and electrical fault finding
  • Experience in a fast-paced Maintenance Department

Desirable:

  • Experience with plant/equipment maintenance in Food Manufacturing
  • Experience with site services such as Boilers, Chillers, Compressors, Air Handling Units, Wastewater Treatment
  • HND Engineering Qualification

Vertically integrated supply chain servicing a new Purpose Built Facility with a traditional liquid manufacturing process and a notable range of solid chocolate options. Fully segregated dairy free dark production line for a range of both solid and liquid chocolates.

A cocoa processing facility is planned on the same site with operations starting in 2024. Future expansions for both chocolates and semi finished to follow.
